For my final project last year (June 2017), I collaborated with a stylist and various hair and make up artists to create an editorial for our own menswear magazine. We had to curate a custom publishing menswear magazine for a store of our choice, which was VooStore. VooStore is a store in Berlin that sells mostly high end clothing but also stocks streetwear brands such as Nike and Gosha Rubchinskiy. In this project, I had to be mindful of VooStore’s brand guidelines and aesthetic in order for the editorial to be successfully received. The concept of this photoshoot is based around adolescence. It is a time in your life where you are discovering who you are as a person and forming your own opinions on the world. This can all be very exciting however, it is also a very uneasy and unsettling time mentally and physically. You are not sure where you are going in life, what you stand for or where you fit into society.

The whirling piece of strings around the model's eye is a symbol of the internal anxiety and confusion of the teenager.

The styling is inspired by brands that match the store we have chosen. There is a minimal, neutral colour palette as we are focussing on how it sits on the person rather than the colour and pattern. It is about interaction with the clothing to the model and to the space around them.
